Disordered eating attitudes, depressive symptomatology and alcohol consumption in young athletes

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate prevalence disordered eating behaviors and attitudes in Slovenian male female categorized athletes relation depressive symptoms their alcohol consumption. Methods: sample included 198 between 18 20 years age. Eating Attitude Test, Center for Epidemologic Studies Depression Scale, Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test were used measure behaviors, level depression, use, respectively. Results: Significant differences found athletes, with reporting higher levels symptoms. 13.90% reported clinically significant disorder symptoms, 40% 10.50% risky use. Results also showed that had levels. Conclusion: These findings have important practical value point importance building a professional team trained recognize mental health problems order provide appropriate help.
